Lierre gets a new outfit

My customer wanted an outfit like the orginal steampunk oufit I created for Lierre, but in different colors. She chose the fabrics, and this is the result. Lierre was without a wig when I dressed her, and for fun I grabbed the pink wig I bought from Michele Hardy (awesome wig by the way!) and thought it was too cute so I left it on her for the photos! :o)

Thanks for peeking in!!

Sharing Holiday Ensembles.....

These two dresses were commissioned for the Christmas holidays. The white 'candycane' dress is made to resemble a ballroom dance dress, and will be a special gift for the customer's friend who enjoys ballroom dancing. The collar fastens behind the neck and then the back is open about 2/3 of the way down to the waist. This was my first outfit for the Tonner Emme doll.

The second is Tonner's Tyler Wentworth in a red & red plaid taffeta gown with a deep v back that ends at her waist.

Have a great week!

Photos from a Customer

This morning I was so excited to find photos from one of my customers in my email! She has given me permission to share them with you!

The outfit was created for a Kaye Wiggs 'SD' size Nelly. Neither of us currently have Nelly, though she is due very soon! The outfit was based on measurements and my own patterns pieces, as well as some extra measurement help from Grace at GraceFaerie Design and altering a couple of her pattern pieces. (By the way, her patterns are wonderful, and Grace is always there to answer questions!)

The result is a long sleeved dress over a separate underskirt, separate top, sleeves & stockings, bloomers, the underbust corset and cap! Her model is Fantine, a SD size Dollzone June and according to my customer poor Nelly may never get to wear the dress as it is a perfect fit and she loves it on Fantine!

Enjoy the photos, and your weekend!

New outfits in Annabella & Millie size

Just completed a new outfit for the Kaye Wiggs tiny and MSD size BJDs.

Little Millie is cute as a button in her sweater set and stocking cap over a little romper.

Annabella is modeling her striped knickers and newsboy hat!

Both outfits are listed in my Etsy shop. Either can be commissioned in fabrics other than those shown.

Pattern credits go to Gracefaerie Designs and MHD Designs on which these outfits were based, along with my own patterns.

I hope you enjoy seeing the new ensembles!

Sweet Creations has been a CDS member from the onset, and I was recently interviewed for the current blog post. Click here to read the interview

Good morning world, it's a beautiful day!

Here are recent summer outfits made to fit Fairyland Little Fee/Volks Yo-SD size girls....

Both customer requests, the blue and white outfit mimics one created in Annabella size, the pink set made from fabric choices by the customer.

For those interested, you can see a gallery of my past work in my PhotoBucket albums HERE Click on the album of your choice at the lower right of the page.

If you would like to commission an outfit, choose the style and Fabrics and send me an email. I create 99% of my patterns and can resize outfits to fit dolls other than those modeling :o) For instance, here is the original Annabella capri ensemble that the above outfit was based on...

Thanks for peeking in, have a great day!!

It's a beautiful day, sun shining, mild temps and a very slight breeze....now if we could just get a bit of rain!

I have just put a commission into the mail for a corset & skirt set to fit Ellowyne. The base color is a blue-ish lavender, and the floral design is muted shade of purple with a tiny bit of white, so I have always had some trouble getting a good color match for accessories. The ribbon in the corset looks so out of place, but it looked better in person :o)

I hope you are all enjoying a good day!

Quick pictures of the completed 'September' outfit that is now off to the client. She will be dressing a Wilde Imagination Amber doll in the outfit and gifting it to her friend later this month. The jacket is forest green corduroy lined in a near matching green posh lining, which was also used for the cuff and pocket accents.

Now you may think, 'what is she thinking by putting green with the orange?'. It represents the photo on the book cover, and the jacket being green has special significance :o)

Here is the jacket, both with and without the belt tie. The dress is in the post below...

Have a great day!

Not long after my last post, my little (ok, younger) brother had a heart attack, which started things off-track and all out of sorts for me. He had an ICD implanted and is getting along well. Then my mother was ill, got better (we thought), then finally ended up having emergency surgery only to find cancer. She spent several weeks in the hospital and in a nursing home, contracted MRSA and returned to hospital and is now recovering in a long-term care facility where she has been for several weeks. One son-in-law has some serious medical issues, my darling hubby just had and MRI and I am scheduled for an echo-cardiogram next week.

I am hopeful that everything will work out and all will be back on track soon. :o) Meanwhile, all of this affects my 'work' as I am the biggest worry-wart on earth and my concentration on my sewing has suffered. I am behind and desperately trying to get caught up so I can create something new!

I am grateful to my loyal clients, especially for having much patience with the time it is taking me to fill their orders, bless you all!

I am working on familiar outfits, though I did make the little denim jumper in red, with an added hat, for one client. My Kaye Wiggs Millie models for you...

I am currently working on a project to create an outfit to match that worn by the character named September in the book titled "The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making" by Catherynne M. Valente. You can visit Catherynne's website and read about the book here.

The dress is done, and I hope to complete the jacket this morning before my darling grandchildren arrive. Ellowyne Wilde models for us...

I also created another special request for a book character. This one represents Lucinda Price from the "Fallen" book series by Lauren Kate and replicates the cover of the 'Torment' book in the series.

You can see all 6 photos of this outfit, including the customer photos of her Kaye Wiggs Miki modeling on my Facebook FanPage here . My Kaye Wiggs Annabella is modeling below in the red wig.

There you have the last few months in a nutshell :o) I hope everyone is having or will have a wonderful weekend, with pleasant weather!

Meet Lierre!!

She arrived yesterday afternoon, and again I am smitten! (Happens often, LOL!!) She is absolutely gorgeous, has beautiful resin, no visible seams, stood right out of the box...after the poor dear warmed up that is! She is so beautiful that several people have asked me if she was repainted, but no this is her original face-up. The eyes are unique, they have a bit of plum color between the gray iris and the dark pupil; I like them.

She borrowed Annabella's favorite wig, and I grabbed this dress so I could snap a photo but it is actually too big.

Isn't she wonderful? Lierre is a 16" ball-jointed doll created by Julie at JakzJewels and is available there for purchase. Her back-story and more photos can be found HERE Click on the 'View' button at the bottom of the page for more photos.

I will be sewing for her soon!!
