Sharing an Emme Commission

My customer had a specific style of Ball Room Dance gown in mind for a friend's Christmas gift. This is my interpretation of her vision...

*Click the photos for a larger view*

The skirt is double layers of chiffon and used a hemming method new to me called 'hooping'. Hooping involves applying fishing line, or a similar product, in with the rolled hem to enhance the curl and flare of the gown.

Accenting the back is an additional piece of cloth, generally attached at the wrists or at the neckline, called a 'float'. The function of the float is to emphasize the top of the dancer, and tends to guide the audiences' eye movements to focus on the dancing couple.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!!

Best wishes for a healthy, happy and prosperous 2013!!

Annabella & The Nutcracker

This is Annabella and her friend, The Nutcracker (I think she is waiting for him to come to life!)....

"I have something behind my back. Guess what it is!"

She shows the Nutcracker her reindeer. He's surprised, but doesn't have to heart to tell her it's really a moose!

Since he did not show much interest, she decided to sit and snuggle with her little 'reindeer'.

Hope you enjoyed a very short story. I still don't know how to tell Annabella that her reindeer is a moose, LOL! ;D

Annabella's outfit is currently for sale on my Sweet Creations Website in a limited edition of 2.

Nelly's Surprise....

Nelly has found a surprise......

"What's this?"

"Oh boy, Christmas decorations!"

"Is that tiny thing our Christmas tree??"

"Really Mom?????"

"I need to take Mom shopping for a bigger tree!"

I hope you enjoyed my first photo story ever...even if it is a bit early for Christmas! :)

Have a great day!! ;D

Silkstone Barbie Ready for an Outing!

Silky is ready to step out for an afternoon on the town, or into the city nightlife, in this chic vintage style.

Her graceful, willowy figure is shown to perfection in this navy silk sheath with a faux cummerbund accenting her tiny waist. The bow at her hip is accented with tiny flowers.

Completing her ensemble are faux pearls and a 1945 style hat which shares the same color/floral scheme as the cummerbund and bow.

This outfit will also fit Integrity Toys Poppy Parker.

It is available directly from the Barbie section in the Salesroom of my Sweet Creations Website.

New Princess Diana Replica

Hope everyone is having a great start to September. Most of the kiddos are back to school and life settles into a familiar routine! :o)

I have been working steadily on my orders, and think I am making good progress, but not caught up yet. In between orders I fit in a new Princess Diana replica that I want to share with you.

It is the navy lace gown that Diana wore to the premier of 'Love and War' in support of the work of the Red Cross in Angola. If you are interested in a copy, please use the email icon at the left to email me for more details.

Have a good weekend!

Annabella is back home!

My darling Annabella arrived back home on Saturday after making the long journey back to the factory in China for a replacement face-up. I was worried about her the whole time ....ok, it was just her head but still I was afraid I would never see her again!

I expected her to be much the same. She is and she isn't, but for the most part I like the changes they made, though I think she looks a bit older now. Her coloring is wonderful, softer and more muted, her face isn't shiny now and she has some shading around her eyes. The freckles are no longer the sparse ones across her cheeks and nose that I really liked but more concentrated, and the brows are way different. My oldest told me the original brows looked more like 'man brows' and she liked these better. I admit, they are growing on me......what do you think?

I will add pics of her here in various wigs. This picture of her in the stocking cap & scarf is her original face-up. (I used this one to make it esier to see her whole face & brows.) Yes, she is hot, LOL!!

Her new brows are easier to see in this photo...

Let me know your thoughts! :o)

New for Princess Diana

I was asked to create a replica of the blush pink suit made by Catherine Walker to fit the Franklin Mint 16" vinyl Princess Diana doll.

Princess Diana wore this worsted wool suit to the Daily Star Gold Awards held at the London Savoy Hotel in March 1997.

The original suit:

My replica:

The suit had a hip-skimming jacket with 3/4 length bracelet sleeves and a short pencil skirt.

My version was made with pale pink linen to simulate the wool, and replicates the original style as closely as possible. It is fully lined and closes with buttons over snaps at the jacket front and back skirt waist.

Diana wore diamond and pearl earrings, beige pumps and carried a Versace 'Lady Di' handbag with gold chain. I cannot recreate the accessories for this outfit, however I accessorized her with faux pearl earrings and necklace.

Currently available for pre-order, please email for details!

Have a wonderful day!

Millie as a Fairy!

This set is from a commission earlier this year, and I neglected to share photos.

Kaye Wiggs Millie is my model, and her she is in a little fairy outfit. The set contains the net dress, an eyelet overdress and bloomers. The wings attach to the back into thread loops.

Isn't she a cutie! (The outfit is an adaptation of a GraceFaerie Designs pattern)

Have a great day!

Some commissions to share....

Just a couple of photos to share of recent commissions. I haven't received photos from my clients yet, so these are my own. Annabella is modeling.....but of course, you won't recognize her as she is missing her head in these pics. :o( Part of her face-up came off when I wiped her face with a soft cloth and water, and she has been returned to the factory to be repainted.

This is a dress with a double layer skirt, so the lower ruffle is attached to the underskirt.

A pleated plaid skirt in a tan/light brown with maroon and black stripes:

A 'fairy' style strapless dress in mint, with eyelet lacing in the back. She is holding the floral accent for her hair:

Hope your week is off to a great start!!

Auctions on eBay...

I listed some outfits for all three BJD sizes on eBay. The auctions end on Wednesday evening 4-16.

I hope everyone had a good weekend! We celebrate Mother's Day and two birthdays at the same time. I love having everyone over so we can have a little family time. My daughters are very busy with their own families and everyday life, which can make it more difficult to coordinate family dinners, but I think it is very important so we fit in about 8 times a year. After my siblings and I were grown, the only time we really got all together was on Christmas Eve at our Grandma's, and that just isn't enough for me! ;o)

Have a wonderful week, and take a peek at the auctions!
